|BAGNA CAôDA BASH, VINTAGE 1998

A Special Tasting of Food and Wine

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1998, 12:00 to 4:00 at the winery

Bagna Caôda

Just what is bagna caôda? It is "a concoction born of the local genius and found nowhere else" but in the hills north of Turin, Italy. Bagna calda means "hot bath." In the local dialect it is "bagna caôda," pronounced "banya cowda," a hot dip composed of olive oil, garlic and anchovy made for dipping raw vegetables. Those of you who attended previous Bagna Caôda Bashes can bear witness to how incredibly delicious this dish is. Delicious and distinctive, it sets the Italian theme for our fall food and wine tasting.
